    Hey guys!
Today, let’s draw Elf on the Shelf!
How does Santa really know who’s been naughty or nice?
Remember; you can follow along, and if I go too fast, or if you need to stop,
please pause the video and come right back whenever you’re ready.

    Let’s get started.
I’ll be using a Sharpie Fine Point Marker so my lines are bold and easy to see.
I’ll begin with his head. He’s got a round face, and I’ll draw his nearest ear.

    How to Draw Elf

He’s got some swoopy hair in the front.
He is wearing a pointy elf hat.

    How to Draw Elf

So I’ll draw a tall hat - kind of like a triangle - with a point at the top.
    Good.
I'll draw a line to separate his hat from his hair.

    How to Draw Elf

    Good.
The Elf is always watching, so I’ll draw his big eyes looking out the corners.

    How to Draw Elf

Always remember to leave a little sparkle in his eyes.

    How to Draw Elf
    Nice.
He’s got a big smile on his face.
    And a button nose.

    How to Draw Elf

I’ll also draw some little eyelashes on his eyes.
We’ll have even more fun coloring him in later.

    Next, let’s draw his body.
He’s got a collar with little points right under his chin.
    Alright!

    How to Draw Elf

Now, I’ll draw his back coming all the way down here.
This elf is sitting, and patiently watching.
Sometimes, the elf can be found hiding in different locations in your house...
    ...doing some pretty silly things!

    How to Draw Elf

He’s got long, skinny arms with mittens on his hands.

Next, I’ll draw his closest leg coming up,

    How to Draw Elf

    and his knee bending here.

    How to Draw Elf

And his leg continues down to his foot.
He’s got a pajama onesie on so his feet are nice and warm inside.

    I’ll finish his body.
And his other arm wrapping around his knee.
    How to Draw Elf

His back leg is casually extended out.
    What a cool elf!

    How to Draw Elf

I’ll finish with a few extra details like: wrinkles in his pajamas,
    his gloves,

    How to Draw Elf

and some depth here on his collar.

Alright! We drew Elf on the Shelf!

Now, I always encourage artists to consider the environment when designing the background,
but today we are going to save the background for when we illustrate our drawing in the next video.
Ok, we’re finished drawing, now let’s add some color!

    How to Draw Elf

I’ll use a red for his pajamas, a brown for his skin and black for his hair.
Pick some colors that you’d like and use your imagination!
Ok, are you ready? Alright, let’s go!

    Now, let’s illustrate it!
